The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi.
According to the statement, the incident was reported at the Owode Egba Police Division after a resident of the community alerted authorities to unusual activities around the property.
Following the report, detectives were dispatched to the scene where initial findings indicated signs of a possible break-in and disorder within the premises. During a search of the compound, officers discovered the body of the security guard inside the security post, while Ms. Oyesiku’s lifeless body was later found within her apartment.
Police also noted that the deceased broadcaster’s vehicle was missing from the residence, raising further concerns about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has directed that a full-scale investigation be conducted to uncover the circumstances that led to the deaths. The command said efforts are underway to identify, trace and arrest those responsible for the crime.
As part of the ongoing investigation, surveillance activities and intelligence-driven operations have been intensified in relevant locations to assist detectives in tracking the perpetrators.
The command expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, the management and staff of OGTV, members of the media profession, and others affected by the tragic loss.
While assuring the public that justice will be pursued diligently, the police appealed to residents to remain calm and provide any useful information that could aid the ongoing investigation.
