IGP, NUC, POLAC HOLD TALKS ON COUNTER-TERRORISM TRAINING

The high-level engagement brought together senior stakeholders, including AIG Patrick Atayero, MSc, MBA, psc, and AIG Uche Ifeanyi Henry, PhD, psc, to deliberate on strengthening academic integration and institutional adoption of the proposed initiative.

Discussions centred on embedding the programme within the academic framework of the Nigeria Police Academy, with emphasis on improving specialised investigative capacity, enhancing law enforcement training, and deepening collaboration between security and educational institutions.

Participants also stressed the need for a sustainable structure that aligns academic expertise with operational policing demands, particularly in addressing evolving security threats such as terrorism and other transnational crimes.

The initiative is expected to strengthen counter-terrorism training in Nigeria while reinforcing partnerships between the Nigeria Police Force, academic bodies, and international organisations.
