During the visit, the Inspector-General also paid a condolence visit to the Zamfara State Police Command, where he commiserated with officers and men of the Command and reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to sustaining operations against banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes in the state.
He was received by senior government officials and security stakeholders, including the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Mallam Abubakar M. Nakwada, who represented the Governor at the funeral prayers and related engagements.
Addressing officers of the Command, the Inspector-General described the fallen personnel as gallant officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation while confronting criminal elements threatening peace and stability in Zamfara State. He extended the condolences of the Force leadership and the entire Nigeria Police Force to the bereaved families, assuring that the sacrifices of the deceased would not be forgotten.
He noted that although their loss was painful, it would further strengthen the resolve of the Force to intensify ongoing operations against criminality across the state. He charged officers to remain disciplined, focused, and professional in the discharge of their duties, stressing that criminal elements would not be allowed to undermine efforts to restore lasting peace.
The Inspector-General commended the Command for its recent operational successes, including arrests of suspects, recovery of explosives and other dangerous materials, recovery of stolen motorcycles, rescue of kidnapped victims, and successful operations against armed bandits. He said these achievements reflect effective intelligence-led policing, operational commitment, and inter-agency collaboration.
He further assured personnel of continued efforts to strengthen logistics, welfare, and operational capacity to enhance effective policing. He emphasized the importance of intelligence-led operations and sustained community partnership in addressing insecurity.
