This was revealed in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the statement, the IGP, speaking on behalf of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, praised fathers for their sacrifices, dedication, and leadership in raising responsible citizens and strengthening the moral values necessary for a peaceful and prosperous society.
He noted that fathers play a critical role in nurturing children, promoting sound moral standards, and instilling discipline, integrity, hard work, and patriotism, which are essential ingredients for nation-building. The police chief added that the daily sacrifices fathers make in providing guidance, protection, and support for their families continue to reinforce the social fabric of society and contribute meaningfully to national progress.
The Inspector-General also paid tribute to police personnel who continue to balance the demands of law enforcement with their responsibilities as fathers and guardians. He acknowledged the commitment of officers who often spend extended periods away from their families while carrying out their duties in service to the nation.
“As the nation marks this year’s Father’s Day, the Inspector-General wishes all fathers good health, strength, wisdom, and fulfilment. He also urges Nigerians to honour and appreciate the sacrifices, commitment, and enduring influence of fathers whose efforts contribute immensely to the development of a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Nigeria.”
The statement further reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protecting lives and property, fostering stronger partnerships with communities, and supporting initiatives that encourage family values, social cohesion, and national development.
The IGP also extended warm Father’s Day greetings to fathers across the Federal Republic of Nigeria, commending their unwavering dedication to their families and the nation.
