Governor Dikko Radda has secured the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress in Katsina State ahead of the 2027 elections following an affirmation exercise conducted by the party on Thursday.
The event took place at the People’s Square in Katsina, where party delegates and supporters endorsed the governor through a voice vote during the gathering supervised by officials from the APC national headquarters.
Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee, Yakubu Maccido, who monitored the process, said the endorsement came after consultations and agreement among stakeholders across the state.
“The affirmation followed a unanimous agreement among stakeholders in the state,” Maccido said.
According to him, the outcome demonstrated the determination of party members to remain united and consolidate the APC’s strength ahead of the next general elections.
He also noted that the exercise was peaceful and conducted according to the party’s laid down procedures.
“While some states experienced tension during the process, Katsina distinguished itself through unity, discipline and effective leadership under Governor Radda,” he said.
The endorsement is seen as a major boost for Radda as political activities gradually build up toward the 2027 governorship contest in Katsina State.
