VIDEO: Igbo Spiritual Mothers Storm Sokoto Prison, Visit Nnamdi Kanu, Demand Immediate Release

According to a report by Punch, A group of Igbo spiritual leaders led by Chief Mrs. Oliaku Chika Ibeneme has visited the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, at the Sokoto Correctional Centre. Chief Ibeneme, who is widely known as Nne Mmanwu Igbo Niine (Mother of All Igbo Masquerades) and a former Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Housing, said the visit was carried out on behalf of Ndi Nne Mụọ Ala-Igbo nile, the recognized spiritual mothers of Igboland.

According to a statement issued after the visit, the delegation declared strong spiritual and maternal support for Kanu, referring to him as a valued son of the Igbo people. During the visit, the leaders reportedly prayed for him, called upon ancestral blessings, and presented symbolic items as a sign of solidarity and encouragement.

The group also revealed plans to expand their advocacy across Nigeria by meeting traditional rulers, prominent community leaders, and spiritual authorities to seek dialogue and support for Kanu’s unconditional release. They urged Igbo people at home and in the diaspora, as well as Nigerians who believe in justice, to continue peaceful prayers and advocacy efforts as Kanu’s detention and legal proceedings remain a subject of national discussion......…
