Before her sudden death at the age of 36, actress Hayden Panettiere had reportedly been dealing with health challenges, according to people close to her.

Her friend and hairstylist, Erick Orellana, revealed that the actress experienced significant difficulties with her health earlier this year, including problems affecting her ability to walk.

Speaking about Hayden, Orellana said:

“I know she suffered earlier this year with her back.

At one point, it was even hard for her to move her legs,”

Concerns about the actress’s health emerged publicly earlier this year after she was photographed at LAX airport in March with her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, while using crutches to move around.

The images showed Panettiere relying on the walking aids as she made her way through the airport.

A second source also described Hayden as appearing tired at times earlier in the year, although the source noted that she often stayed awake late and had a number of personal and professional responsibilities.

The source told Page Six:

“Earlier this year, she did seem a little tired at times. But she was a night owl, and… she has a lot on her plate,”
An insider further claimed that Panettiere sometimes experienced anxiety and occasionally took medication to manage it.

According to the source, the issue could sometimes affect the actress’s speech.

“And every so often that could impact her speech,” the source said.

The comments about her health come after the actress’s death was confirmed, leaving fans and those close to her mourning the loss of a performer who had been in the public eye since childhood.

Panettiere was known for major roles in Heroes, Nashville and the Scream franchise. She also appeared in Remember the Titans and voiced Dot in A Bug’s Life.
