Francis Duru’s death was announced by his family through a statement shared on his official Instagram page. The family said he passed away following a brief illness.

The statement reads: “We, the family of Francis Duru, regret to announce his passing following a brief illness.
“We appreciate your prayers, love, and understanding. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
Duru was a familiar face in the Nigerian movie industry. He began his acting career in 1989 and became well known for playing Ahanna in Rattlesnake, the 1995 film produced by late filmmaker Amaka Igwe.
Meanwhile, Stephen Echendu reportedly died on Saturday and was buried on Tuesday. Further details about his death were not provided in the information available.
