Abena made the revelation during a television programme on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after 14 years of marriage. She admitted to having relationships with two other men while married to Chief.

According to her account, one of the pregnancies occurred before their wedding, although she only discovered the situation after getting married. She said the second pregnancy happened during a period of disagreement with her husband while she was struggling to receive financial support from him.

Explaining why she decided to speak out, Abena said she could no longer keep the matter to herself.

“I came here this afternoon to beg my husband, Shaibu Mohammed, to forgive me my sins.

“I couldn’t keep it anymore, so despite my fear, I decided to tell him. When I finally confessed, he said he had heard me. He then asked why I hadn’t told him earlier, and I explained that I was afraid.

Abena claimed that Chief told her he would stop supporting the children for the next 12 years because he had spent about 12 years taking care of them.

“My husband told me that he had taken care of the children for 12 years, so he would no longer provide for them for the next 12 years. He said I should also suffer by taking care of them myself,” she said

She further claimed that her husband threatened to harm anyone who attempted to help her, including the men she identified as the children’s biological fathers.

The dispute took another turn when Abena spoke about her late father, Mr Nyame, who reportedly died about two weeks before her appearance on the programme. She claimed that Chief had threatened her father before his death, although no independent evidence was presented during the programme to establish a connection between the threats and his death.

“He said he wouldn’t allow anybody to help me and if any of the men I have children with comes into my life, he will kill him. He also said he would make my father fall sick. My father subsequently fell sick and died about two weeks ago. I know I have wronged him and I am sorry,” she said.

Appearing emotional, Abena again pleaded with her husband to forgive her for what she had confessed.

“Please, let all spirits, heaven and earth bear witness that I have wronged you. Please forgive me,” she pleaded.

Chief was later contacted by telephone during the programme, where he expressed anger over the revelation and accused his late father-in-law of knowing about the children’s paternity but keeping the information from him.

He claimed that Mr Nyame, who was an SDA church leader, knew that two of the children were not biologically his but deliberately failed to tell him. Chief also accused his late father-in-law of changing the name he had given one of the children without his knowledge or consent.

He further claimed that Abena’s parents had secretly received money from the children’s biological fathers while Abena continued living with him as his wife.

Chief said he had invoked spiritual curses against his wife’s family and would not withdraw them until he received compensation for the money and resources he had spent raising the children.

He also made threats against people who attended his father-in-law’s burial, suggesting that they could suffer consequences similar to those he associated with the deceased.
