María welcomed the quadruplets, named Mariano, Maximiliano, Emiliano and Tiago, on October 21, 2026, after 34 weeks of pregnancy.
The babies were reported to be in stable condition following their birth, while María continued recovering in hospital.

María and her partner, Jonatan Zapa, travelled from Caucasia, Antioquia, to Clínica del Prado in Medellín to receive specialist medical care during the final stages of her pregnancy.
Speaking about the moment they received the news, Jonatan described how stunned they were.
“Total silence, total silence at that moment. Yes, it was news that left us completely silent.
“The oldest is Mariano and the youngest is Tiago”
According to their father, the four boys were delivered at around 2:40 p.m., with approximately one and a half minutes between each birth.
The newborns remained under observation and received specialist medical attention. Jonatan said they appeared to be responding well to treatment when he visited them during the night.
Beyond the joy of welcoming four babies at once, the couple are also preparing for the financial demands of raising quadruplets. Their expenses will include nappies, formula milk, prams and, eventually, the children’s education.
“The most important thing now is that we’ve brought them into the world. Now we have to think about that situation – there are four of them,” Jonatan said.
He added that María would become a full-time mother as the couple adjusted to life with their four newborn sons.
