APC RELEASES UPDATED LIST OF DISQUALIFIED SENATORIAL ASPIRANTS

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a revised list of senatorial aspirants barred from taking part in its Senate primary elections, with former Bayelsa East senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, no longer included among those disqualified.

The updated list, made public on Monday by APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, showed that the number of affected aspirants has dropped from 47 to 44 ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In the statement, the ruling party urged members and stakeholders to ensure the primary election process remains credible and orderly.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases an updated list of Senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the Party’s Senate Primary Elections,” the statement said.

“The APC urges all stakeholders to uphold transparency, orderliness, and the integrity of the ongoing Primary Election process.”

Among those listed in the revised document are serving and former lawmakers, political figures, and party chieftains from several states across the country, including Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Rivers, Yobe, Zamfara, Adamawa, Kebbi, Jigawa, Kwara, Taraba and the Federal Capital Territory.

Some of the notable names on the list include Sen. Benson Agadaga, Daniel Effiong Asuquo, Sen. Garba Musa Mai Doki, Chief Barry Balera Mwara, Banigo Ipalibo, Jack-Rich Tein T.S, Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana (SAN), and Donald Daunemigita.

The development comes as the APC continues preparations for its senatorial primaries ahead of the 2027 polls.
