Professor Munzali Jibril, an educationist, has stated that former Head of State General Sani Abacha had many enemies during his time in power
In an interview with Trust TV, Jibril said Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola and General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, who were detained by Abacha, died in detention. He said former president Olusegun Obasanjo was also imprisoned by Abacha
Jibril said at a meeting, Abacha told him and other people that Ted Turner, founder of CNN, offered to give him generous publicity on CNN if he agreed to release Obasanjo
In Jibril’s words: “Abacha made a lot of enemies. Abiola died in his custody even though he died before Abiola, Yar’Adua died in his custody, Obasanjo was incarcerated. And at a meeting he told us that actually Ted Turner had called him to offer him generous publicity on CNN if he would released Obasanjo”.....…
