Veteran actress and media personality Omotola Jalade Ekeinde trended a day ago, following an awkward interview with an interviewer, who was outside the entrance of the Nigeria Patrons’ and Board’s Dinner Party.
Omotola was heading home when she met the interviewer outside the entrance of the dinner party and she agreed to an interview with him.
The interviewer began the interview by asking who he was with. “Who am I here with?” he said jokingly. Then, Omotola slammed him for asking a baseless question, noting that he wasn’t ready for the interview, and angrily left the premises.
The video has caused mixed reactions with netizens sharing different views about it. Many noted that Omotola Jalade felt embarrassed and questioned the interviewer for his baseless question.
Reacting to the video, the Chairman of the Miss Nigeria Organization Rita Dominic released a statement on Instagram, apologizing to Omotola Jalade Ekeinde for the discomfort she experienced.
She also noted that she’s a valued member of the Miss Nigeria Community.
Dominic said in her comment session that the interviewer wasn’t invited by the Miss Nigeria Organization and had no official affiliation with the event.
She stated that the clip circulating online wasn’t the full picture, and there were multiple individuals who repeatedly invaded Omotola’s private space, making her feel uncomfortable.
Rita mentioned that the behavior was completely unacceptable and the Miss Nigeria Organization wouldn’t stand for it.
She added that Omotola Jalade was gracious enough to engage in good faith and her goodwill was taken advantage of.
