Officers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have delivered an impressive performance at the maiden National Masters Athletes Championship, held from May 1 to May 3, 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Representing the Command, the athletes secured notable podium finishes across different events, clinching both gold and silver medals. ASP Ibrahim Aliyu emerged victorious in the 100 metres event, winning gold, while ASP Alolade Olanrewaju earned a silver medal in the discus throw. Inspector Elvis Elaigwu also claimed silver in the triple jump.
Reacting to the achievement, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi PhD, fcai., commended the officers for their dedication, discipline, and excellence, noting that their achievements reflect the Command’s commitment to all round development, professionalism, and the promotion of physical fitness among personnel.
He added that their success has once again brought honour to the Command and serves as an inspiration to other officers.
