The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the People’s Democratic Party has constituted a 13-member interim National Working Committee to steer the affairs of the party.
The decision, announced by BoT Chairman Adolphus Wabara, follows developments after the Supreme Court upheld the nullification of the party’s Ibadan Convention, a ruling he said left a vacuum in the party’s leadership structure.
Wabara explained that the action aligns with the provisions of the PDP constitution, making it necessary to put an interim structure in place to stabilise the party.
Heading the newly formed committee is former National Chairman Tanimu Turaki.
The resolution was reached during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting convened by the Turaki-led faction of the PDP. The meeting took place at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja on Monday.
Key figures present at the meeting included Seyi Makinde, Babangida Muazu, Jerry Gana, Zainab Maina, alongside Wabara and Turaki, among other stakeholders.
