BOKO HARAM ATTACK CHIBOK COMMUNITY, SET TWO SCHOOLS ABLAZE

The attackers reportedly stormed the community at about 7 p.m., triggering panic among villagers who escaped into nearby bushes to avoid being caught in the assault.

Kautikari, a community that has suffered repeated attacks by insurgents over the years, was once again thrown into chaos as the terrorists targeted public facilities.

A security operative from the village, who is currently based in Maiduguri, confirmed the incident, noting that details regarding possible casualties were still unclear at the time of filing this report.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that our village (Kautikari) in the Chibok local government area is under Boko Haram attack.

“Our people are scampering for safety, even as two schools (primary and day secondary school) are under fire,” he said.

The attack reportedly resulted in the destruction of the community’s primary school and day secondary school, both of which were set ablaze by the insurgents.

As of the time of this report, there was no official information on deaths, injuries or abductions linked to the attack.

Efforts to obtain a response from the Borno State Police Command were unsuccessful, as calls and messages to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso, were not answered before press time.
