PRESIDENCY DISOWNS CLAIMED APPOINTMENT BY ALLEGED FOREIGN INTERVENTION COUNCIL

The Presidency has dismissed claims linking the Office of the Chief of Staff to the appointment of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, warning that the organisation behind the announcement has no connection to the Federal Government.

In a statement issued from the State House on Thursday, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, clarified that the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council is not a recognised government body and does not operate under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

According to the statement, the attention of the Federal Government was drawn to activities of an individual identified as Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is allegedly presenting himself to the public as someone appointed by the Office of the Chief of Staff through the purported organisation.

“It has come to the notice of the Federal Government of Nigeria and specifically the Office of the Chief of Staff to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR that a certain Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, under the auspices of an alleged organisation styled as the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” is portraying himself to the general public, as having been appointed by my office.

“The unsuspecting public is hereby advised to note that such an office does not exist under this administration and no appointment has been made in that regard,” the statement read.

Gbajabiamila urged diplomatic and foreign missions, financial institutions, multilateral agencies, development partners, security organisations and the general public to disregard the claim and take note of the disclaimer issued by the Presidency.

The statement stressed that no such appointment had been approved by the Office of the Chief of Staff and reaffirmed that the alleged council has no official status within the current administration.
