The election featured candidates from six political parties, namely the All Progressives Congress (APC), Youth Party (YP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), African Action Congress (AAC), and the Democratic Liberation Alliance (DLA), all of which participated in the chairmanship contest.
