TINUBU BACK IN ABUJA AFTER SALLAH BREAK IN LAGOS

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to the nation’s capital after spending the Eid-el-Kabir holiday in Lagos, where he carried out a series of official, political and national assignments.

The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 5:17 p.m. on Tuesday. Waiting to receive him were the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu; alongside other senior government officials.

While in Lagos for the Sallah celebration, Tinubu hosted several dignitaries and delegations who paid the traditional Eid homage. Among them were Vice President Kashim Shettima and members of the Senate leadership led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The President also received governors under the platform of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by its Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Other visitors included APC stakeholders from Oyo State headed by the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, as well as APC candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly from Lagos State.

As part of events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Navy, President Tinubu attended the International Fleet Review held at the Eko Atlantic City Waterfront on Monday. During the ceremony, he commissioned three naval ships — NNS Oloibiri, NNS Mambila and NNS Gurara.

The President also met with the President of Benin Republic, Romuald Wadagni, in discussions aimed at deepening the longstanding relationship, regional collaboration and economic ties between both countries.

Prior to the Eid-el-Kabir holiday, Tinubu participated in the All Progressives Congress primaries in Lagos, where candidates emerged for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and presidential elections.

He cast his vote during the exercise and later secured endorsement from nearly 11 million party members across the country as the APC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
