Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan delivered a commanding performance at the Rabat Diamond League in Morocco, racing to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles and setting a new meeting record in the process.
The world record holder crossed the finish line in 12.28 seconds, equalling her season’s best and securing her first Diamond League win of the 2026 campaign. Her impressive run saw her finish comfortably ahead of her rivals.
Bahamian hurdler Devynne Charlton placed second with a time of 12.40 seconds, while Dutch athlete Nadine Visser finished third in 12.47 seconds.
Amusan’s winning time also erased the previous meeting record of 12.45 seconds, a mark she established at the same venue a year ago.
The victory marks an important milestone for the Nigerian star, who had previously reached the podium in Diamond League events this season without claiming top spot.
Earlier in the year, Amusan finished third in Shanghai with a time of 12.41 seconds. She then improved to second place at the Xiamen Diamond League in China, where she also clocked 12.28 seconds.
Before beginning her Diamond League season, the Nigerian hurdler captured gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2026 African Championships in Accra, earning Nigeria’s first gold medal of the competition.
Her latest triumph in Rabat provides further momentum as she prepares for the defence of her Commonwealth Games title. Amusan is scheduled to return to action at the next Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rome, Italy, on June 4.
