Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale has announced her retirement from international football after 16 years of representing Nigeria.
The 34-year-old centre-back made the announcement on social media, bringing an end to a distinguished international career with the Super Falcons.
Ohale made 86 appearances for Nigeria and was part of four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title-winning teams.
She also represented the Super Falcons at four FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments during her time with the national team.
Announcing her decision, Ohale said her retirement followed a difficult decision to bring her international career to an end after years of representing her country.
“After 16 years of wearing the Nigerian jersey, representing my country, and giving everything I had to the beautiful game, I have made the very difficult decision to retire from international football,” she said.
Ohale will now shift her focus to her club career following her departure from the international scene.
