More names are expected to be added to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council as the campaign of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar continues to expand its structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The campaign said those whose names were not included in the initial list should not assume that they had been left out permanently, stressing that consultations are still ongoing and additional appointments will be made.
Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, September 26, 2026, titled “No One Is Forgotten.”
He said the recently announced council represents only one stage in the development of Atiku’s campaign organisation.
“The campaign is still evolving. Consultations are continuing, and further responsibilities will be assigned as the structure expands across the country,” Shaibu said.
He appealed to supporters who may have been disappointed by their absence from the first list to remain patient, assuring them that Atiku recognised the contributions made by his supporters over the years.
“His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, remains deeply conscious of the sacrifices made by those who have stood with him over the years. Loyalty is remembered. Sacrifice is respected. Friendship is valued,” he said.
“To those who may feel disappointed that their names have not appeared yet, we ask for patience and understanding. No one should believe that years of commitment and sacrifice have been forgotten.”
Shaibu said the campaign would continue to rely on a broad range of people, including party members, experienced political leaders, professionals, young Nigerians and others willing to contribute to the campaign.
He also disclosed that the campaign would soon announce its zonal and state structures, as well as additional senior appointments and other levels of organisation reaching wards and polling units across the country.
“In the coming days, the campaign will announce its zonal and state structures, additional senior appointments and other layers of organisation extending to wards and polling units across the country,” Shaibu said.
The announcement comes days after Atiku unveiled his presidential campaign council for the 2027 election. Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai was named Deputy Chairman, while Kashim Ibrahim-Imam was appointed Chairman. Senator Austin Akobundu is serving as Director-General and Campaign Manager.
Former Edo State Governor John Oyegun was named Chairman of the Campaign Advisory Board, while Lawal Batagarawa and Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, were appointed Deputy Chairman and Secretary respectively.
The campaign’s policy team is headed by Mohammed Hayatudeen, with Professor Mohammed Sagagi as Deputy Chairman. Professor Kingsley Moghalu, Professor Mustapha Akinkunmi and Senator Abdul Ningi are among those listed on the team.
Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha are also among the senior campaign advisers.
The campaign management structure covers areas including administration, operations, media and communications, contact and mobilisation, diversity and support groups, and technical and systems.
Dele Momodu was named Deputy Director-General of Media and Communications, while former Kogi State Senator Dino Melaye will head Contact and Mobilisation. Phrank Shaibu is Director of Strategic Communication, Kola Ologbondiyan is Director of Media and Publicity, Ladan Salihu is Director of Branding, while Moji Rhodes-Vivour is Director of Digital and Online Media.
Kenneth Okonkwo, Keturah King, Nana Kazaure, Uche Diala and Dahiru Maishanu were listed as campaign spokespersons.
The Contact and Mobilisation directorate also includes Solomon Dalung, who will oversee Mandate Protection, Naomi Labari, who will head Women Mobilisation, and Balarabe Rufai, who will be responsible for Youth Mobilisation.
Lauretta Onochie was named Deputy Director-General of Technical and Systems, while Salihu Tanko Yakasai will oversee Diversity and Support Groups.
Shaibu said the campaign’s structure would continue to expand as the ADC builds its national organisation ahead of the election.
He said the campaign was also strengthening its policy team to bring together Nigerians with experience and expertise in areas such as the cost of living, food security and agriculture, security, energy and power, jobs, industrialisation, manufacturing, small and medium-sized enterprises, education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, public finance, governance, technology, social protection, natural resources, environment and human capital development.
“Nigeria’s challenges are interconnected and cannot be addressed in isolation. The objective is to ensure that every major national problem is matched with a serious, practical and implementable policy response capable of improving the everyday lives of Nigerians,” he said.
Shaibu described the campaign as a people-driven national organisation and said there would be room for more Nigerians to participate as its structures develop.
“This is a people-driven national campaign. It will continue to grow organically, drawing strength from Nigerians who share the desire to build a country where life is more affordable, businesses can thrive, young people can find opportunity and families can once again look to the future with confidence,” he said.
“There is room in this journey for every sincere hand willing to serve.”
Atiku, who is the ADC presidential candidate, is running alongside former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, who is the party’s vice-presidential candidate.
