The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has terminated the appointment of a staff member caught extorting candidates, signaling a strict zero-tolerance approach to internal misconduct.
According to the Board’s weekly bulletin released on Monday, the decisive action underscores that efforts to rid the examination process of fraud extend inward.
“The Board once again warned all members of staff to desist from all forms of unwholesome conduct, particularly acts capable of undermining the integrity of the Board or exploiting candidates and members of the public,” the statement read.
JAMB emphasized that it applies the same rigorous standards used to target external fraudsters to internal personnel. The agency stated that it will not shield or protect any employee who abuses the trust placed in them by candidates and the public.
Warning that rule-breaking employees will face severe disciplinary actions, JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a clean, accountable, and professional workforce to preserve the integrity of national examinations.
