The Chief Imam of Temidayo Central Mosque, Imam Sheikh Abdullateef Mustapha, today during the Jumu’ah service, called on Muslims to fear Allah in their dealings.
Citing the Qur’an, the Imam said Allah does not want anything from human beings except that they make amends among themselves and uphold justice.
He further quoted the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW): “Run away from anything that will corrupt your religion.”
He said: “When you see what is causing damage, use your mouth to amend it and find a solution to it, not the other way round, so that the country will not be destroyed and peace will reign.”
Earlier, a guest lecturer, Ustaz Muhammad Jamiu, delivered a pre-khutbah lecture on the topic, “The Devout Servant of Allah.”
He said a servant of Allah is someone who lays a foundation of faith for his children to uphold, someone who knows Allah, obeys Him, and teaches people about Him.
He also cited Qur’an 2:133, where Prophet Ya’qub (AS) asked his children about worship after his death, and Qur’an 11:46, where Prophet Nuhu (AS) called his son to board the Ark. He noted that Ya’qub’s children fulfilled their father’s legacy, while Nuhu’s son, who rejected it, was lost.
He therefore advised parents to lay a solid foundation of faith for their children and urged children to uphold it.
He warned that those who destroy things and refuse to make amends should know that there is God who will judge all actions.
EMIRATE RADIO 98.5 FM Internship Reporters Rukayat kolapo, Zainab oladimeji revealed that the Jumu’ah prayer, which was attended by hundreds of worshippers, ended with special prayers for peace in Ilorin, Kwara State and Nigeria at large, for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and for the Imam of the Central Mosque.
