The founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Chibuzor Chinyere, has sparked fresh reactions online after announcing additional support for his adopted autistic son, popularly known as Aboy, following his recent marriage.
In a post shared on X on Sunday, the cleric revealed that the young man, now renamed Elijah, was gifted a Lexus car, while he and his wife also received a plot of land as part of efforts to support their new life together.
“Former Aboy, now Elijah, has received a Lexus car gift, while both he and his wife were also given a plot of land,” Chinyere wrote.
He further disclosed that Elijah has been appointed as an ambassador for the church’s free school dedicated to children living with autism and Down syndrome.
“Today, April 5, 2026, he has also been appointed as an Ambassador for OPM Free School for Autism and Down Syndrome,” he added.
The latest development comes days after Chinyere officiated Elijah’s marriage to an older woman on March 29, an event that generated widespread debate across social media platforms. The union had earlier drawn criticism after a viral video surfaced showing the cleric publicly seeking a wife for the autistic man.
According to the pastor, Elijah was abandoned as a child and later taken in and raised under his care at OPM, where he has received support and rehabilitation over the years.
Prior to the wedding, Chinyere had also announced several welfare packages for the couple, including financial assistance worth millions of naira, accommodation, and other incentives aimed at ensuring their stability.
Following the announcement of the car gift, land allocation, and ambassadorial role, reactions have continued to pour in online. While some social media users praised the cleric for his generosity and commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals, others questioned the sustainability of such gestures and raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding the marriage.
