A 29-year-old man identified as Ebikeme Seiye from Akede community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has been arrested following a report involving a 5-year-old girl in Amassoma.

The suspect was arrested on September 30 after the matter was reported to the police by the girl’s elder cousin, Mr Tobokeakpo Selekeme.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Oyeintari Idonwanbofa, was taken for medical treatment after the incident.

Following his arrest, Ebikeme reportedly confessed during questioning and claimed he committed the act while under the influence of a substance identified as “COLOS.”
The Bayelsa State Community Safety Corps, Amassoma Cluster, later handed the suspect over to the Amassoma Police Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Meanwhile, the child is currently receiving medical care at a hospital as authorities continue their investigation into the matter.
