“You held me together when I lost my mum” – Alex Ekubo’s wife’s emotional tribute to late actor surfaces online

An emotional tribute written by late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo’s wife has surfaced online, where she shared memories of their love, marriage and the special bond they shared.

In the now-viral note, she described the actor as her “Dadaa” and recalled the names he gave her, including “Pookstar,” “Asa IKUKU” and “Nwa,” saying the names became a home for her.

She revealed how he stood by her when she lost her mother a year ago, describing him as her anchor during one of the most difficult periods of her life.

“When my mother passed a year ago, you were my anchor. You held me together during a season where everything felt heavy. Your love gave me the strength to keep putting one foot in front of the other,” she wrote.

The grieving wife said she still finds herself reaching out for him daily, only to remember that he is no longer around in the same way.

She also shared how Alex expressed love through handwritten notes he left around their home.

“Little messages from my Dadaa to his Nwa. Sometimes sweet, sometimes just a simple reminder that I was loved. Dadaa, you mattered. To so many people, in so many ways.

And that is why this loss feels enormous. You are my Dadaa, you will always be my favourite human being. Forever your Nwa,” she added.

The late actor’s wife described their bond as a faith journey, saying they prayed together and trusted God’s promises. She added that Alex impacted many lives with his kindness and care.

Alex Ekubo, who passed away at the age of 40 after a battle with cancer, has continued to receive heartfelt tributes from loved ones, colleagues and fans who remember his kindness and the impact he made.
