“Helping Nigerians Abroad Is Becoming Risky”- Rita4Delta Laments After Woman Allegedly Uses Her Address For Visa Application

  • UK-based Nigerian Rita4Delta said someone she had hosted for free allegedly used her home address without permission.
  • She claimed the address was used to support a visa application for someone living in Nigeria.

A UK-based Nigerian woman, Rita4Delta, has expressed frustration after allegedly discovering that another Nigerian used her home address to process a visa application for someone living in Nigeria without her knowledge or consent.

Rita4Delta shared her experience on social media, explaining how she had accommodated a fellow Nigerian in the United Kingdom for free, only to allegedly discover that the individual had used her residential address to send an invitation and facilitate a visa application for another person in Nigeria.

According to her, the situation came to light when UK immigration officials requested council tax documents as part of the visa application process. The documents were reportedly needed to establish the applicant’s connection to the address and verify responsibility for the council tax.

She explained that the person she had previously accommodated only contacted her after immigration requested the documents. Rita4Delta also alleged that the individual went as far as threatening her over the possibility of the visa application being rejected if she failed to provide the requested documents.

Expressing her displeasure, she said:

“Helping Nigerians in the UK now looks like a c^rse. Imagine someone using my home address to send an invitation and apply for a visa for another person in Nigeria without my knowledge. It was only after immigration requested council tax documents that the person reached out to me, even thre@tening me over the possibility of the visa being denied. This won’t be funny.”

Her account has highlighted concerns about trust, boundaries and the possible consequences of allowing others to use personal residential details for official purposes without the homeowner’s permission.
