Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has criticised Nigeria’s Minister of Power over the persistent electricity challenges in the country, questioning the government’s handling of the power sector despite the huge sums of money reportedly invested in it.
The actress expressed her frustration over the poor state of electricity supply in Nigeria, pointing out that millions and billions of naira continue to go into the sector while many Nigerians still struggle to enjoy a stable power supply.
In a message directed at the Minister of Power, Kate Henshaw questioned why electricity remains unreliable in 2026 despite the substantial funds allocated to improving the sector.
“Mr Minister of Power, there’s no light. There’s hardly electricity in 2026, yet millions, billions are being thrown into the power sector. What are you people doing?” she asked.
Her comment has drawn attention to the ongoing concerns of Nigerians over frequent power outages, rising electricity costs and the continued reliance on alternative sources of power.
