We’re Facing A 2 Edge Sword,If You Don’t Catch It,You’ll Sink,Survival Is The Only Option—Yinusa

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Tanko Yunusa, has intensified calls for unity within the opposition, insisting that the party must rally behind Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a political interview on SYMFONI TV, Yunusa expressed strong confidence in the ADC’s growing coalition, noting that the party is better positioned than previous opposition efforts due to the influx of experienced political actors and a broader national appeal. He argued that Nigeria’s current challenges—ranging from economic hardship to insecurity—have created urgency among citizens for a credible alternative.

According to him, the opposition’s mission is not merely political but existential, stressing that the country is at a critical juncture. “We are facing a two edged-sword,if you don’t catch it,you will sink and die, survival is the only option,” he said, underscoring the stakes involved in the upcoming elections.

Yunusa also dismissed concerns about internal competition within the ADC, insisting that Obi’s emergence as the party’s presidential candidate remains non-negotiable for his camp. He maintained that the growing support across regions, particularly in the North and Southeast, reflects a shift in public sentiment.

The ADC coalition, he added, is focused on presenting a unified front capable of “changing the narrative” and steering Nigeria away from what he described as a downward trajectory. As political realignments continue, Yunusa urged party stakeholders to prioritise national interest over personal ambition in the lead-up to 2027.
