Chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst appeared on Fox & Friends to discuss reports that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has expanded its influence over the Strait of Hormuz, including claims that it is charging fees to vessels it allows to pass through the vital shipping route.

In an interview aired by Fox News, Yingst said, “IRGC has been destroyed and decimated by Operation Epic Fury. Iran’s nuclear program has been taken out; the production line was targeted in U.S. and Israeli strikes over 40 days. Iranians have little at the negotiating table, and officials say they will have to admit they lost and change their tone for a good-faith deal.”

His remarks highlighted growing concerns about Iran’s strategic posture in the Gulf region and its control over one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints.
