BREAKING NEWS: We Don’t Want War – Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei

According to a report by Nigerian Tribune, on Saturday April 11, 2026, Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has stated that his country does not want war. He made this known in a message shown on state television.

‎Khamenei explained that Iran is not looking for conflict with the United States or Israel, he said the country prefers peace but will not give up its rights, according to him, Iran will continue to protect its interests no matter the situation.

‎The message was shared 40 days after the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, the elder Khamenei was killed on February 28, the same day the current conflict began, his death marked a major turning point in Iran’s leadership and the region’s politics.

‎Despite his call for peace, Mojtaba Khamenei said Iran remains committed to its allies, he referred to what he described as a united resistance front. This includes groups and partners in the region, such as those in Lebanon, Iran has long supported its allies in the Middle East, especially during conflicts involving Israel.

‎The development comes as Iran agreed to a temporary ceasefire with the United States, the agreement is expected to last for two weeks, many believe this could open the door for peace talks between both sides, however, the situation remains uncertain.

‎Khamenei called on Iranian citizens to stay involved in national matters, he said public support and participation are important, especially during negotiations and encouraged people to make their voices heard, saying it could influence the outcome of future talks.

‎“We did not seek war, and we do not want it. But we will not renounce our legitimate rights under any circumstances, and in this respect, we consider the entire resistance front as a whole,” he said in the message read out on state TV........…
