US Seizes Iran-Backed Hacker Domains After Group Leaked Sensitive Data From Former PM Bennett

According to a report by The Times Of Israel on March 20, 2026, the US Justice Department announced the seizure of four internet domains used by an Iran-backed hacking group that had previously stolen and leaked information from former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and a close aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The domains—Justicehomeland, Handala-Hack, Karmabelow80, and Handala-Redwanted—were reportedly employed by Iran for “attempted psychological operations targeting adversaries of the regime by claiming credit for hacking activity, posting sensitive data stolen during such hacks, and calling for the killing of journalists, regime dissidents, and Israeli persons,” according to the Justice Department.

US officials said that in recent weeks, the Handala group claimed to have leaked personal information of Israel Defense Forces personnel and others connected to the military. The group also asserted that it had stolen nearly a terabyte of data from the Sanzer Hasidic community, including what it described as “documents of financial cooperation, witchcraft ceremonies, and secret correspondences with Netanyahu.”

In addition, last week the group took responsibility for a major cyberattack on US medical technology company Stryker. They claimed to have compromised over 200,000 systems and extracted 50 terabytes of data, framing the attack as retaliation for recent military actions against Iran.

The Justice Department emphasized that these seizures were part of broader efforts to counter cyber operations by state-backed actors and to disrupt attempts to intimidate or harm individuals and organizations through digital channels. Authorities continue to monitor the activities of the Handala group and other similar networks to prevent further attacks on both US and international targets.
