Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication, has shared his perspective on recent political developments involving opposition figures under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Bwala made the remarks on his X handle, where he commented on the preparedness of opposition members ahead of future elections. His statement comes amid ongoing discussions about party readiness, political alignment, and the evolving dynamics of Nigeria’s electoral landscape.
According to him, “The opposition members under the umbrella of the ADC know quite well that they are not ready for the election, since all of them want to be president. They have now resorted to alleging foreign interference in our elections by claiming a one-party state, as if foreign governments do not have their embassies and commissions here in Nigeria to assess the lack of preparedness of the ADC. They are an association of party-grabbing elements.”
He explained that his comments were intended to reflect his observations on the current state of opposition politics, particularly in relation to internal coordination and readiness. Bwala noted that political parties often face challenges in aligning their members and presenting a unified direction.
The presidential aide further emphasized the importance of preparation and organization in political contests, stating that effective planning and collaboration are essential for any party seeking to participate meaningfully in elections. He added that public discourse around political readiness continues to shape perceptions among stakeholders.
