A former Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, has mobilised hundreds of his followers for the senatorial ambition of Hon Remi Oseni ahead of Oyo South Senatorial District election.
Our correspondent reports that Oseni is the Oyo South Senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Shittu, who is a chieftain of APC in the State, declared unalloyed support of all his followers for Oseni’s ambition.
He made these declarations during a collaborative meeting between his followers under the umbrella of Adebayo Shittu Vanguard and the lawmaker.
Some of the personalities at the meeting are Oseni himself, Barrister Lowo Obisesan, Hon Segun Ajanaku and Hon Remi Sadiq.
Others are Chairman of Adebayo Shittu Vanguard in the State, Alhaji Kamil Adepoju, Chairman of the planning committee, Alhaji Ismail Gbolagade Oyinlola and the Secretary of the planning committee, Hon Saheed Arisekola Oyediran.
Shittu, in his remarks, declared that all his followers are ready to support the lawmaker’s ambition.
He also pledged to support other candidates of the party.
Oseni in his address, noted that elections are not won on social media.
He advised all members of the group to work for all the candidates of the party.
He said, “I am happy and I am humbled for your unalloyed support. I know that what you stands for is truth. Whatever we want to achieve in the presidential and gubernatorial elections, there must not be any problem with Oyo South Senatorial District.
“Let us go to town and talk to the people to vote for us. Let us talk to our people in an environment that is conducive for people to listen. Election is not won on social media. You should move from one local government area to the other. If you want to succeed you need to plan for it”.
Adepoju in his welcome address noted that the purpose of the meeting is to chat a way forward for the progress of the party.
He said, “The main purpose of this meeting is to coordinate all members of Adebayo Shittu Vanguard to mobilise all our members for the success of all the candidates of the party. All the members in Oyo South Senatorial District have pledged their loyalty for the success of the APC candidate in the senatorial district, Hon Remi Oseni. We, members of this group are not betrayers. We don’t double date”.
Oyinlola in his own contribution, noted that all members of the group have resolved to support Oseni’s ambition.
“We thank God. To God be the glory. We have decided to work for him”.
