NAHCON chairman reiterates inter-agency cooperation with NSCDC

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, on Wednesday reiterated the readiness of the commission to strengthen existing cooperation with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). 

The NAHCON chief made this known when the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, paid a courtesy call on him at Hajj House headquarters of the commission in Abuja.

NAHCON’s Head, Information and Publication, Shafii Sani Mohammed, stated in a release made available to Tribune Online that Yusuf appreciated Audi for  visiting the commission.

According to the release, Yusuf used the opportunity to reaffirmed the NAHCON’s commitment to sustaining and strengthening the partnership between it and the NSCDC.

This, he said, was in the interest of Nigerian pilgrims and the success, safety and smooth conduct of future Hajj operations.

Speaking earlier, the NSCDC boss commended Ambassador Yusuf’s leadership at the Hajj commission and the ongoing reforms being undertaken by NAHCON towards repositioning the Nigerian Hajj industry. 

He then assured the commission of the NSCDC’s continued support and cooperation.

Mohammed stated that, “The visit provided an opportunity for discussions on strengthening the existing collaboration between NAHCON and the NSCDC, particularly in the areas of security, crowd movement management and safety of pilgrims, as well as effective coordination during Hajj operations.”
