The operation followed credible intelligence indicating that suspected terrorists had planted explosives along the busy route, raising concerns over the safety of motorists and other road users.

Acting on the intelligence, troops attached to Sector 2 moved to secure the area and conducted a thorough search for the suspected devices.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops discovered two locations where the explosives had been planted and immediately deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to handle the threat.

The EOD team successfully destroyed one of the devices and recovered and rendered the second harmless, preventing a potential tragedy along the road.

Following the successful operation, the troops intensified patrols and surveillance along the route to protect commuters, safeguard nearby communities and forestall further attempts by suspected terrorists to threaten public safety.

Operation Fansan Yamma urged residents and members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects, movements or activities to the nearest security agency.

The operation also stressed the importance of public cooperation with security forces, noting that timely information from residents remains critical to ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and maintain peace across the area.
