The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the rescue of former Big Brother Naija winner Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel and her two younger brothers following an alleged assault involving their father in Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, on Saturday .
According to the statement, Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel, 27, alongside her brothers, Godson Emmanuel Odiniya, 14, and Devin Emmanuel Odiniya, 10, were taken to Yabisam Hospital in Lugbe after they were rescued.
The police said their father, who sustained injuries during the confrontation, was also taken to the hospital by the Area Commander Metro, ACP Ufomadu Georglyn.
The statement clarified that the rescued siblings are currently in police protective custody, contrary to reports circulating online, while their father remains in police custody and is receiving treatment.
“The rescued siblings are currently in police protective custody, contrary to the circulating publications being released online, while their father, who is also receiving medical treatment, remains in police custody,” the statement read.
The police added that investigations are ongoing and questioning would begin once all parties involved are medically certified fit by doctors.
“Investigations are ongoing, and questioning will commence immediately all parties are certified medically stable by the attending medical doctors,” the statement added.
