“I was only trying to help the little girl” – Cameroonian lady cries out after alleged detention in Lagos, narrates ordeal

A Cameroonian lady has cried out online after alleging that she was accused of human trafficking while trying to help a teenage girl she met in Lagos.

According to her, she travelled to Lagos to buy goods and lodged at a hotel where she met a young girl allegedly being exploited.

In her words, she said:

“I came to buy some goods in Lagos and I lodged at a hotel. I met a small girl working there, she should be around 17 years old.

She begged me to help her because the woman who owns the hotel took her from her village to Lagos to work for her only for her to start using her for prostitution”

The lady claimed she decided to help the girl return to her village, but things allegedly turned chaotic on their way there after some armed men reportedly intercepted them.

She alleged that the girl suddenly accused her of attempting to traffic her to Cameroon for the same prostitution she had earlier accused the hotelier, leading to threats and accusations against her.

“After they beat me up, they asked the girl where we were going. She said I wanted to take her to Cameroon for prostitution.

They all claimed I am into human trafficking. They are asking for ₦1 million, else they will put me in Kirikiri. In case I am no more, please come to Mile 2 station in Lagos.” she added.

The disturbing claims have continued to spark reactions online, with many calling for proper investigation into the incident and concern for the safety of those involved.
