Nigerians have reacted to a man’s birthday post after he shared a photo of his mother while celebrating her and describing her as a beautiful woman.

The woman appeared to be dressed as a devoted Eleha woman, while her face was not visible in the photo shared by her son.

While the man’s birthday message was filled with appreciation and affection for his mother, some Nigerians focused on the fact that her face was covered.
Some social media users mocked the man for calling his mother beautiful when her face could not be seen, with some questioning how they could know whether she was beautiful without seeing her face.
Celebrating his mother, the man wrote:
“Happy Birthday to my beautiful mum, my safe place, my answered prayer, and one of the greatest blessings ELEDA has given me. 
ELEHA o, I honestly don’t know how to put into words how much you mean to me. You never stop taking care of me. Even when you should be resting, you’re still thinking about me. You hardly sleep when you’re worried about me. You’re always asking if I’ve eaten, begging me to eat when I say I’m not hungry, and checking on me whenever I’m at home to make sure I’m okay.
And one thing that always touches my heart is how you ask if I’ve slept. If I tell you I haven’t, you’ll start with, “Please, go and sleep small.” 
It may seem like such a little thing, but those little things are the things I know I’ll carry in my heart forever.
