The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has engaged representatives of military veterans’ associations to clarify the implementation of newly approved pension rates.
This was contained in a statement made available to defence correspondents in Abuja by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sqn-Ldr Aliyu Mohammed.
According to the statement, the consultative meeting, held on Friday in Abuja, addressed concerns raised by the representatives and explained the process for implementing the new rates.
It added that the engagement also provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss pension-related issues and strengthen mutual understanding.
The statement further explained that the veterans’ representatives welcomed the explanations and appreciated the opportunity for direct engagement with the board.
According to it, the board reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of military pensioners and assured transparent communication and constructive engagement with stakeholders.
“It also assured stakeholders that it would address pension-related concerns within its mandate and encouraged continued dialogue through established communication channels,” the statement added.
