Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested 27-year-old Precious Yohana. She is accused of killing her newborn baby soon after giving birth in Abuja.
Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu shared this information in a summary of police activities released on Monday, October 5, 2026.
Police said they learned about the case after getting a distress call about a baby abandoned in a bush.
When officers arrived, they found the body of a baby boy with serious cuts on his neck and abdomen.
Preliminary investigation subsequently led to the arrest of Yohana, who police said confessed to delivering the baby without assistance before allegedly using a razor blade to cut the child’s neck and abdomen.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Abuja is currently investigating the case.
