The son of Mount Zion Faith Ministries founder Mike Bamiloye, Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, has shared how he chose to start acting with his father.
In a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, Joshua explained that his father started out performing stage dramas, travelling between churches to present Christian plays before moving into filmmaking.
He said he became interested in acting after seeing how his father’s performances inspired people and received positive responses.
Joshua also said that seeing his father use his creativity to make a difference in people’s lives encouraged him to take a similar path.
“My father started from film and stage drama. He would go from church to church acting Christian drama evangelism and from there he upgraded into movies,” he said.
“You know when you watch someone do what you like and inspires you, that you see people are watching and are getting blessed, giving feedback.
“I now thought to myself that what else do I want to do? It was like I had the she creative nature that my father had.”
Mike has been married to Gloria Bamiloye, a Nigerian film actress and evangelist, since October 8, 1988.
Together, they have three children—Joshua, Damilola Mike-Bamiloye, and Darasimi Gomba-Oyor—all three of whom are actors. He has six grandchildren
