The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, on Thursday, 30th April 2026, visited the family of the late Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ejeh Alfred at their residence in Abuja to commiserate with them following his death in active service.
The late ASP Ejeh, who served as a driver with the Nigeria Police Airwing, died on 17th April 2026 during an operational assignment in the line of duty.
During the condolence visit, the IGP met with the widow, Mrs. Mercy Ejeh, the children, and other family members, where he conveyed the Force’s sympathy over the painful loss. He described the late officer as a loyal and hardworking personnel who gave his life while serving the nation.
He assured the family that the Nigeria Police Force stands with them in this moment of grief, stressing that officers who die in service will always be honoured and their families supported.
The IGP also reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of police personnel across the country, noting that their dedication and sacrifices remain central to maintaining national security.
He prayed for the peaceful rest of the deceased officer and encouraged the family to take solace in the legacy of service he left behind.
