A Nigerian man who took his wife to a Justice Court has opened up about some of the sacrifices he says he made throughout their marriage.

In a video shared on X, the man spoke about his financial responsibilities in the home and accused his wife of refusing to assist financially when their daughter was admitted to the hospital.
According to him, his job was not stable, but he consistently made efforts to ensure there was food at home. He said he would regularly buy shawarma on his way back from work and even purchase food in advance whenever he had the opportunity.

Explaining his efforts during the marriage, he said:
“Everyday I Bring shawarma, what is she looking for I brought everything home if i am accusing her, we are together here now when the money finished because the Job i was doing was not stabled so in advance i dont want to hear that one day there is no food in this house anymore, so what i do is that i buy ahead even if i dont have cash, i dont care, i just want to buy continue buying in advance and all of a sudden when we have a misunderstanding about cash, guess what 24 thousand naira, we were in the hospital with my daughter i didnt have money, i had to wait for my brother he is not in nigeria,I had to wait for my brother to send me money.”
The man went on to explain why he did not ask his wife to provide the money for their daughter’s treatment.
According to him, he had struggled to send her money for food at her workplace shortly before the hospital incident, despite claiming that she had more than ₦600,000 in her bank account at the time.
He said:
“Why i did not approach her (His wife) to give me money is that a day before then, I was even struggling to send her money to eat in her working place and she had more than 600 thousand naira in her account so we were together in the hospital when i was looking for a way to deposit the money so they can treat my daughter this is not the first time, when i first brought her (His daughter) I faced alot of significant health issue based on change of environment we spent money in the hospital until she get ill this one i am talking about Just 24 ,000 naiara so when i discovered that phone that ring, the response to me provoked me and i was like oh, You think i am weak abi I now seized the phone from her (His wife) and said this phone would be with me for the next 3 days i would not give yiu this phone, 24hours later/ 12hours not even up till 12 hours, she went and bought another phone 319k that was how i discovered she had the money”
