Five months after giving birth to her child, a Nigerian mother has taken to social media to appeal for help, revealing that she is struggling to afford food and has been unable to find a job.

In a video shared on TikTok, the woman explained that she used to be someone who helped others whenever she could, but said her circumstances had changed and she now finds herself in need of assistance.
She appealed to anyone who has foodstuff to spare to consider helping her, explaining that she has been going through a difficult period since giving birth.

According to the woman, she has been searching for employment opportunities but has yet to find something that would enable her to support herself and her child.
She also explained that life had taken an unexpected turn for her, leaving her in a position where she had to put aside her pride and publicly ask for help.
Crying, she said: “When I post myself online asking for help or support, I used to be the giver, but now I think life has taken a new direction, and I have to follow suit by putting my shame and pride aside.
Please, if there is anybody who has food items and is willing to share, I beg you in the name of God, I will really, really appreciate it.
I stay at Irawbo Bus Stop. Before you call me, please understand that we just moved here. For the past 9 months, things have been really bad.
I had my baby 5 months ago, and while I was pregnant, everything just changed for the worse. We have been trying, looking for jobs, and searching for opportunities, but nothing has been working.
We have been feeding from hand to mouth, and at this point, things have become really bad. There is no food at home. Even my 5-year-old cannot go to school, and sometimes there is nothing for him to eat.
There is no water at home; we have been drinking rainwater, which is fine. But please, I beg you, we just literally moved here.
Please, if there is anything, any help you can offer, I will really appreciate it. Even my baby is hungry. There is no water left for her, and there is nothing to feed her with.
If there is anything at all you can do for us, please, I beg you.
I am willing to work. My husband cannot work right now. We have just been trying. He goes out every day, sometimes with nothing, most times with nothing.
So please, any help at all — food items, job opportunities, or anything you can offer — I beg you in the name of God.
Please help us. Let these children have something to eat. Let us put something in our bellies.
