BREAKING: Zamfara,The Food Basket Of Nigeria Is Scary, You Cannot Even Go To Sokoto By Road—Yunusa

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Tanko Yunusa, has raised fresh concerns over insecurity in northern Nigeria, warning that worsening conditions could significantly influence voter sentiment ahead of the 2027 general elections.…WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

Speaking during a televised interview on SYMFONI TV, Yunusa described the situation in parts of the North as alarming, particularly in states once regarded as peaceful and agriculturally productive. “Zamfara, the food basket of Nigeria is scary, you cannot even go to Sokoto by road without being scared,” he said, highlighting the growing fear among residents and travellers.

He noted that insecurity has disrupted farming activities, with many families unable to access their farmlands, thereby worsening economic hardship in the region. According to him, the deteriorating security situation has also affected education, as schools in some areas are increasingly unsafe.

Yunusa linked these challenges to broader governance issues, arguing that the current administration has failed to adequately address critical concerns. He maintained that the ADC coalition is gaining momentum as more Nigerians seek alternatives ahead of the next election cycle.

The ADC stalwart also reiterated his support for Peter Obi, describing him as a consistent voice in opposition and a figure capable of uniting the country. He expressed confidence that shifting political dynamics, especially in the North, could reshape electoral outcomes.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to prioritise competence and national unity over ethnic or religious considerations, stressing that the country’s survival depends on collective action and responsive leadership.
