Kogi lawmaker and ADC representative Honourable Leke Abejide has alleged that former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu called Nafiu Bala and other party leaders to a meeting with coalition leaders without disclosing that he planned to resign and hand over the party’s leadership that same day.…WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Abejide said, “I got more information from this former national youth leader recently. They were not informed, Nwosu did not tell them that he was going to resign that day. He didn’t tell them they were going to vacate the seats that day. They said these people were coming to join the party. What they could have done is to allow them to come in, and Chief Ralph Nwosu as acting Chairman could have written to the NEC and given 21 days’ notice that they want to hold a national convention,” he said.
Abejide argued that a more measured approach would have allowed the party to amend its constitution first, clearing the legal path for figures like David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola to assume leadership without any constitutional barrier, removing the grounds for any court challenge entirely. Instead, he alleged that the entire handover was executed as though the general election was imminent.
