According to reports by LEADERSHIP on Friday April 10 2026, the incident happened Wednesday night along Funkuyi Road in Buran District.
Faragai said Sallama, a resident of Sarkin Bakar Rano, was attacked while trying to help Malam Sauwanu Hadi, who was being robbed of his motorcycle and phone.
According to him, the assailants first attempted to shoot Sallama, but when their gun failed, they resorted to using a machete, cutting off his hand and leaving him severely injured.
“When the gun failed, they resorted to using a machete and cut off his hand, leaving him in a critical condition,” Faragai said
The District Head of Bunkure, Alhaji Aminu Isa Umaru, reported the matter to the Emir of Rano, HRH Muhammad Isa Umaru.
