Abductors of Nasarawa teacher demand N50m ransom

Gunmen are demanding a N50m ransom for the release of Amina Hussaini, a primary school teacher who was kidnapped from her home in the Kuru community, Toto Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

Hussaini, a teacher at an LEA Primary School in the community, was kidnapped on Tuesday while her husband was away on an assignment in Lafia, the state capital.

Her sister, Suwaiba Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to our reporter by phone on Thursday and said the family is struggling to raise the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.

She said the kidnappers contacted the family after the incident and insisted on N50m for the teacher’s release.

Abdullahi said a family member tried to negotiate a lower ransom, but the kidnappers ended the call abruptly.

She added that the family is confused and is asking the public for financial help to secure Hussaini’s release.

Hussaini is still being held, and the incident has been reported to the police.

Abdullahi called on security agencies, the Nasarawa State Government, and well-meaning Nigerians to help ensure her sister’s safe and unconditional release.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Nasarawa State Police Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, said he had seen reports of the abduction on social media and would make enquiries before giving more information.
